Molly's Muse No. 21: Fall Holiday Hostess 'Fits

It's almost Halloween, which means the holidays are right around the corner. I'm already starting to think about holiday outfits for events, parties, and dinners I will be attending and hosting in the (quickly) upcoming few weeks. Now is the time to get new statement pieces in your closet to spice up your wardrobe. With delays and supply chain shortages (blah, blah, blah), you won't want to miss out on some adorable dresses, tops, and sweaters available right now. This is my favorite time to shop, I just love getting into the holiday mood 😊

This week, I've rounded up some lovely pieces that would be perfect for any fall holiday soiree. My picks air definitely more on the fall/Thanksgiving direction, since it's still just October. All of these items can be elevated into more sophisticated and elegant looks, as they are styled a bit casual in some of the photos. Enjoy and happy holiday shopping!

Corduroy Party Dress

As soon as I saw this dress, my mind went crazy thinking of all the cute shoes, boots, and tights you could pair with it! I love that it's corduroy (huge sucker) so it's very festive for fall. I'm thinking either some tall riding boots or kitten heels would completely set off this look. Plus, yellow is such an underrated fall color, so you'll really stand out :)

Silk Skirt Dinner RSVP

Every woman needs a silk skirt in their fall wardrobe, and I'm loving this beautiful deep chocolate shade from J. McLaughlin this season. Brown is a great statement color because you can pair tans, creams, prints, and other shades of brown with it.

What I also love about this look are the tall suede boots that are paired with it. Not only do the boots add a touch of luxe, they also add a layer of warmth on cool days and evenings.

You can find this entire outfit right now at J. McLaughlin. Don't be afraid to add lots of layers and textures to this wonderful outfit: silk, suede, wool, etc.

Not Your Average Sweater Dress

If you don't have a Ralph Lauren sweater in your closet yet, you may want to consider investing in one (or two!). This sweater dress is elevated in style with its extra tall collar and rich, olive color. A wool-cashmere blend will keep you super cozy when you wear it to your family dinner (great for traveling in!) Loving the riding boots Ralph has paired with it, which are available right now as well.

Versatile Bow Blouse

Whenever I need a sophisticated yet whimsical blouse, I always check in with Tory first! I own a few of her silk blouses, and they come in so handy for the holidays. I wear them with suede leggings, skirts, or you can even dress them down with a pair of great denim (think holiday luncheon date).

This blouse has the sweetest print on it, which is why I fell in love with it. Plus, how can you go wrong with a big bow for the holidays? I wear my blouses year after year; they are definitely worth the splurge!

add a little drama

Each year, I wait with anticipation for Tuckernuck's fall and winter collections to come out! If you aren't familiar with this curated online shop, it's time to check them out. They are a charming New England company that has many unique pieces you won't find anywhere else.

Like, this gorgeous puff-sleeved blouse that's nice and thick, with the cutest little button details (note the bottom half of the sleeves). Add a little drama to your fall wardrobe this season...the good kind!

I can't say I love the denim that was chosen to model this top, but I envision black or chocolate suede leggings or denim to look fantastic. Here's some outfit detail inspiration also available at Tuckernuck:

I hope I was able to give you some fashion inspiration for all your fall holiday needs...

Happy shopping, friends!
