My Multi-Destination Suitcase

Reading Time, 2 minutes

This fall, I traveled to Europe...France and Ireland to be exact. As I stood in my closet and stared at my empty suitcase, I began to feel very overwhelmed and a bit perplexed as to how I was supposed to fit my entire wardrobe into this tiny vessel 😳

After talking to a friend that just got home from her own multi-destination trip across the world, she gave me some great advice. "Interchangeable outfits are key!" I quickly went to Pinterest and started pursuing outfit ideas, and came up with some inspiration.

I'm going to break down my suitcase into four vital outfits and pieces that you can totally plagiarize if you please 😜 This is quality over quantity at its best, people! 👍

1. The Poncho

Ponchos are a fantastic layering tool, and seem to be popping up everywhere this season. Wear this guy throughout the day with a sweater, jeans, and boots... then watch it transform at night over your little black dress and over the knee boots 😍 I got a lot of questions on my IG about this outfit I posted on my story 👇

Poncho: Banana Republic, Dress: American Apparel, Boots: Stuart Weitzman, Purse: Louis Vuitton

2. The Black Leather Jacket

My FAVORITE layering piece that will get you through a trip to almost anywhere in the world. The oh-so classic leather jacket keeps you so warm while looking chic as ever. It's warmer than your poncho, but smaller than packing a bulky winter jacket. You never know when the weather is going to turn, so it's a good idea to keep one of these with you.

If it's chilly out, throw on a big black scarf, too! Jacket: BCBG, Scarf: H&M, Purse: Louis Vuitton, Boots: Stuart Weitzman

3. The Turtleneck

Probably my favorite out of the sweater family, a turtleneck can be a cute top during the day, and a more dressy sweater for the evening. It layers so well under coats, blazers, and vests. The fact that it is more form-fitting means it can pair well with skirts and trousers. Oversized turtlenecks can be layered over dresses or worn with over-the-knee boots 😉

Classy and chic, you CAN'T go wrong with a black turtleneck! Mine is from Zara.

4. The Boots

I think I wore the SAME pair of boots every day I was in Europe 😱 Looking back, it was such a good idea to invest in comfy, flat knee high boots. They look great with any outfit, and seriously save your feet! I bought mine (Stuart Weitzman) a couple years ago during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and they are one of my best purchases.

Stuart Weitzman doesn't make my boots anymore, but the 50/50 are a very close style... link here!

Au Revoir

So long, golden pals. Hope this 'lil post helped a bit for your future travel needs. I've done a lot of "over-packing" in my past, and I'm sooo "over" it! LOL 😜 It really is worth it to plan out your suitcase before you go anywhere. But... don't stress if you forget something. Especially if you go to Paris, there's plenty of fantastic stores to pick up forgotten items 😉 Catch ya later!
